Absolute belter of a tutorial, not even just regarding Scaler 2, but also Ableton, the midi tools, gating, etc, etc. You're damned right I sub'd!

So I tried the detect function on a soloed instrument loop to test and the detection was entirely off… like it really couldn’t have been more incorrect

How did your drum kit get labeled in the midi viewer? When I put in a kit it’s just the key names. Anybody know how to do that?

I was trying to find out where the midi capture is I rewind it four times because I wasn’t paying attention and still didn’t get it so I just clicked off the video

Just wanted to comment for some clarity for those a bit confused... Scaler Audio is a audio effect plugin that you load on the same track as your loop. You can also pull up another instance of Scaler on its own track, add the loop in the sidechain, and detect the loop that way as well.

The Chord track in Logic Pro only retrieves 4 notes out of the 5 chord notes sent by ScalerCont2... Am I missing something? (i am new in the music world)

excellent! - Hi Davide, It would be great if you could drag chords and melody phrases from the DAW track (Cubase) into Scaler to edit them further in Scaler. You should then be able to drag them back to the DAW track once you have finished editing them. (for Scaler 3) 😍❤

WOW. i just purchased S2 & it's a BIG leap from using Captain Chords. It feels more natural IMO. i've been so used to using the interface with CC so i'm still trying to get my head around not being able to use a timeline. but other than that, I love it. it's a great investment! thank you.

the tab key function did not work for me. is that in the default keyboard settings? or is that custom? what key function is tab for you sir?

It would be great if there was an option Scaler would output the actual midi chord notes you're playing and not just one note..I know there's record button that does that but it would be better without that extra step of recording and draging the file into DAW...it would be perfect.:)

About a year ago I ran into Joshua Casper and since I associate him with Scaler I mentioned that “Scaler was like the Arturia of plugins”, meaning that like Arturia issuing many firmware updates even for their several years old gear, such as the Beatstep Pro, Scaler seemed to follow a similar pattern, issuing many feature updates without resorting to the ‘major revision/update now’ method of squeezing the consumer. Scaler is an exceptional product and project, offering a lot of folks endless enjoyment.

I can totally accept making music this way; it feels much better than using AI to make music, because at least this method still requires my mouse. Clicking those buttons with the mouse is really important; I must remind myself of this."

Scaler 2 has to be one of the most powerful music plugins of all time, in one of the most confusing UIs I have ever seen. With Scaler 3 will there be another layout philosophy considered? I’d be curious if this is just me… Regardless I’m going to invest the time in learning it, but intuitive it is not for me.

There is a slightly faster way to enter the chords from Scaler into the Chord Track, based on that video (not mine): ua-cam.com/video/mJ7pTR7iKGY/v-deo.html 1. Drag and drop Scaler chords onto an empty instrument track 2. Create an instrument track and set it to Internal Mini In to the track from 1) 3. Click the midi input on the chord track (like in this video) 4. Play your song and press tab to move to the next chord as soon as the Chord track detected the first chord Note, make sure to keep the chord track window open for this to work. :)

Scaler seems to focus too much on the suggested Chords and scales and too many block chords. You can not create music with just block chords. What about musicians who know what chords they are using, what does scaler have for them? For me I am looking for scalers to have trillions of different midi patterns in different genre styles of music. That’s my wishes.

I absolutely adore Scaler 2. Suggested category: 90’s and grunge.

I hope v3 adds its own piano roll to the scaler. I would also like Ghost Note to be activated for each inserted scaler. You can view your MIDI arrangement easily and objectively. I want it to be a tool to help you decide.
